Work Life Balance: The Best of Both Worlds.

Work Life Balance: The Best of Both Worlds.

4:45am: Roll out of bed, throw on my workout clothes and head to the gym for a quick workout.

6:00am: Get myself and two boys ready to go

7:20am: Out the door to bring the boys to daycare

8:00am: Arrive at VAST for work

12:00pm: Lunch-pick up the house and prep for dinner (the more I can get done now the more time we have with our boys after work).

5:00pm: Leave work and head to daycare (there is a little bribing involved but I finally convince my 3 year old to leave).

5:45pm: Arrive home, make and eat dinner and then it’s time to get the boys ready for bed.

8:30pm: My husband and I pick up the house to do it all again tomorrow.

After the birth of my second son I really struggled with the small amount of time I have after work to spend with my kids and balancing it all. That is when VAST offered me the best of both worlds. The ability to do a job share, which meant I could continue the job I love at the place I love to work and get to enjoy these precious young years with my boys. I now work three days a week in the office and get two extra days at home with my boys.   I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity and feel so blessed to get to work for a company that truly cares about its employees and recognizes the importance of balancing work and life.
