Coordination of Benefits – Group Health Insurance

There may be circumstances where an individual is enrolled in two health insurance policies. For example, an individual is enrolled in a policy through his employer, and is also enrolled under his spouse’s policy at the same time.  When these two policies work together to pay claims, it’s called Coordination of Benefits. It is imperative if you are in a scenario similar to the one described, that you inform both insurance carriers of the dual coverage to establish which plan is primary vs secondary. Pre-Employment Screening Program

Motor carrier companies have many tools at their disposal in screening driver applicants. Motor carriers mostly run MVRs (Motor Vehicle Record) checks on potential applicants as part of their hiring process. However, there is another report that motor carriers run on applicants that is not as well-known as the MVRs. It is called the Pre-Employment Screen Program Report, or PSP. Vacation Time Tips

Whether you are renting a car, flying, or camping, there are some vacation time tips I would like to share with you. If you are renting a car, always take a photo with your smart phone of all four sides of the car when picking up and returning it.  This way, you have dated documentation that you returned the vehicle in the same condition as it was when you picked it up.  I even take a photo of the full gas gauge just because. Certain memberships give you automatic upgrades, so look into that as well. Always check with your … Continue reading

Who is at Fault for a Fallen Tree?

This is an issue that tends to cause a lot of confusion and frustration for many people. If a neighbor’s tree falls on your property, whether it be your home or business, who should have to pay?  Naturally, most people feel that it isn’t their fault, or their tree, so why should their insurance have to pay for the damage?  In most cases it isn’t really anyone’s fault.  The most common reasons trees fall are from storms, which is an act of Mother Nature. There are cases where your neighbor could be liable if their tree damages your property. For … Continue reading
